Daniel Andreev: The Rose of the World

In Russia, it can truly be said that ‘the pen is mightier than the sword.’   Alexander Solzhenitsyn is often credited by penning the ‘literary demise of Russia.’  (http://www.martincwiner.com/jordan-peterson-on-aleksandr-solzhenitsyn-a-lesson-in-personal-responsibility/)

I was recently introduced to a more obscure work written by Daniel (Daniil) Andreev.  The book was written while Andreev was in a ‘political isolation ward’.  The Soviet era government was so afraid of his ability to write and motivate that he had to keep his manuscripts hidden.  Indeed, many of his transcripts were lost, notably the conversations between himself and his father Leonid Andreev — a contemporary of Tolstoy.

The book calls for peaceful unification, religious and political.  It then delves into mystical matters which for those inclined will be quite enlightening.  For those not open to spiritual discussions, I invite the reader to look at the depth of detail in these accounts and take them as allegory rather than history.  Even as allegory, they contain a powerful message.

Here we have Section 1.1 of his book in Audio/Video format.

This is only section 1.1 of a full 12 sections.  It took hours to produce so I’ll slowly add more as time permits.

Here is the full (to section 6) audio book:

The full text (again, up to section 6) is available at:

I’ve produced a PDF for your ‘readers’:

It will take me quite some time to digest the materials here.  In fact, just scanning over them is what caused me to produce the video/audio book.

In general, however, I felt obligated to allow someone with such an obvious contribution – who had been denied the ability to be heard – a voice and continued presence.
