  1. I’m writing about religion and have a chapter about how poor people, especially in Africa, have adopted religion as the answer to their condition: It’s all God’s will. He’s strengthening our faith in preparation for heaven…..

Your graph suggests that it’s more complex than I was suggesting.

How did you arrive at that graph? Would you permit me to use the graph in my book, and how would you like the credit to read?

    Thanks.

The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Presents The Benny Goodman Centennial Orchestra Performing Jazz Arrangements Of “The Sound Of Music” And Other Goodman Classics

Toronto, Ontario — The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre will host a special performance by the Benny Goodman Centennial Orchestra featuring three of Canada’s most distinguished musicians – Gene DiNovi, James Campbell and Dave Young – along with some of Toronto’s top young music talent. This group will be performing jazz arrangements of “The Sound of Music and other Goodman classics in celebration of the great clarinetist’s 100th birthday.

Pianist and composer DiNovi, who is one of the great icons of Canadian and American jazz, together with Order of Canada-winning musicians Campbell (clarinet) and Young (Bass), will be performing with and passing on a legacy to the next generation of premier jazz musicians who make up the rest of the Benny Goodman Centennial Orchestra This top talent includes: Bryden Baird (trumpet), Graham Campbell (guitar), Ernesto Cervini (drums and clarinet), Tara Davidson (alto saxophone and flute), David French (tenor saxophone), and RJ Satchithananthan (trombone).

Days after the 1959 Broadway debut of “The Sound of Music” with the help of Fred Karlin, Benny Goodman arranged the entire musical score for jazz orchestra, featuring all the hit songs. Nearly 50 years ago, Benny Goodman and a stellar group of musicians, including Gene DiNovi, recorded this arrangement at the famous Jazz Club in New York called “Basin Street East”. Songs included favorites such as “Do Re Mi”, “Favorite Things” and “So Long Farewell”, in addition to Goodman classics such as “Sunny Side of the Street”, “Moon Glow” and “Sing, Sing, Sing”.

  3. Hello Mr Winer,
I am looking for manufacturers of a cavitation water heaters as a possible replacement for, or an augmentation of our oil-fired boilers for the purpose of reducing our oil consumption.
I am guesstimating that our current system can produce a flow somewhere around 1500 gallons per minute. I may be wrong. Our co-op is completely residential, consisting of 140 units of various sizes (studio -> 3 bed 2 bath).

  4. facebooks cancer breakthru at the University of Alberta ..group….alk to me ..mail me..we need more proactive people on board..this is a goddamned war against greed..human complacency and lack of giving a shit

  5. And the greed is even by the folks at avemar. I paid 48.00 to have 1 bottle of avemar shipped express, signature required and on ice. The summer temps where I live surpass 115F, and inside my metal mailbox, much more. They shipped to the wrong address, their mistake. The package was not shipped on ice. Eventually, after riding around for days in the heat, it arrived. Destoyed. I live in Las Vegas. Initially I tried to order from the US distributor where the product is a full 30.00 less per bottle, told they were out and not expecting any soon, to try back in 2 week intervals or order from canada, I ordred from canada. Instead of apologizing, i paid 78.00 extra to order from canada. The lady refused to refund my money, then refused to at least refund the shipping she did not do. Insisted that I should pay another 48.00? to reship the damaged product to her at a different address, where since she insists the product is perfectly fine even though their site clearly states 80F cap for temperatutre. I told her why bother since its ruined and she could send a pick up. My credit card refunded me. She rebilled me again. Even if Avemar was the only cure, i would never ever again do business with either the usa or canada distributors. Ive purchased plenty of items from the internet, and I have never experienced this level of immoral business, first with the dca and now the avemar, folks, isnt it enough to make a fair profit with a genuine product or are these companies no better than big pharma?

  6. Anyway Martin, I come to you, seeking your help to encourage righteous business practices with such incredible products.Still sick and much poorer….Cindy

  7. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. Are you combining it with DCA out of curiousity?

  8. Martin, your broad interests and writing is really interesting.

My wife has melanoma and we have begun DCA treatments along with Avemar. In conjunction with this we are doing a very low carb diet following the research of Dr. Thomas Seyfried whom I suspect you may be familiar with. Basically we are treating cancer as a metabolic disease.

Do you have any thoughts on adding the old line diabetes drug, metformin to the mix?
Perhaps you are aware of the on-going research into this whereby metformin seems to target the difficult to eradicate stem cells …… opening them to chemo as an example.

I realize you are not a physician and any comments you might make could not infer medical advice ……

Hoping you will comment and appreciative of your work.

  9. Hi Martin, I saw your note on the VND = USD when did you see it at 1 VND = 4.7425 ?? I followed your link to the EconomicTimes.IndiaTimes.com/markets/forex page but saw no sign of any VND to USD rate conversion. Your note was the only thing I’ve seen to indicate the VND revaluation is going on.

  10. That was a very long time ago. It seems that currencies are mysteriously reevaluating themselves all over the place. Right now, we’re in a Debt Apocalypse.
