Steve Martin was on Stephen Colbert recently.  He was there sporting his banjo and gave a performance with his group: “Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers”.  As you might expect with Steve Martin, comedy made its way into the lyrics.  I wish it hadn’t because I feel it detracts from the attention this group deserves. 

The quality of the musicians and their performance is top notch.  I hope they continue to perform with a little less comedy in the lyrics such that they’re not considered a gag-act because they’re anything but.
