A youtube search for the lullaby gives a few versions. www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Ой+ходить+сон%2C+коло+вікон
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are about 1000 versions of 'Summertime' to listen to here :
http://www.last.fm/tag/summertime%20fm & click on the 'Play Summertime fm Radio' button.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They are listed here :
http://www.last.fm/user/Lachgast/library/tags?tag=summertime+fm
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And there are lots more versions, but not available on that particular web radio.
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/paristokyiv3 - track #3
also...
Randy Bachman discussed this folk song as an inspiration for "Summertime" on his radio program on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting) Radio One. I can't find a source for it though.
Dear Martin,
Thank you for giving us a taste of this haunting Ukrainian melody - I am doing a cabaret show entitled "Summertime" this July and August 2010 at The Oak Room Supper Club (at the Algonquin Hotel in NYC) and I am looking to sing this lullaby to show people the inspiration for the Gershwin's opening aria from Porgy and Bess, and what became a truly famous jazz standard. Do you know where I can find the whole recording? I have looked but had no luck. I appreciate your time and thanks again for sharing all your musical wisdom.
Best,
Kat
